Klapp

Klapp is a plugin for BIM architecture software that simulates the propagation of sound waves in any designed space in an architectural project. It allows an architect or an engineer to compute and analyse the acoustical properties of the space as early as the design phase of the project.

Klapp utilizes novel algorithms from the field of Virtual Reality for computing the sound wave propagation that are both accurate and very fast. The user will never need to wait for Klapp to compute and can almost instantly see the acoustical properties of the selected space.

Klapp is a powerful toon on par with state of the art acoustic simulation programs. However, being a plugin to BIM architecture software, it allows architects and engineers to have the ability to perform complex acoustical analysis inside their preferred software, without being forced to use another program.

Klapp is developed as part of Project BG 16RFOP002-2.024-0089 “Promotion of entrepreneurship in MAULBEER Ltd", financed by the Operational Programme “Innovation and competitiveness” 2014-2020, co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund.

Helios

Helios is a Revit plugin for computing whether a room can be used as a living or reception room, as specified by the Austrian lighting standards, defined in OIB-330.3-007/19.

Helios automates the process of calculating whether a selected room in a Revit project fulfills the standards to be a living or reception room, i.e. a room in which people spend more than 2 hours per day on a daily basis. The tool quickly performs the necessary computations and displays all relevant information in a clear and concise manner.

Functionality

The core functionality of Helios consists of the following steps:

• Finds all the windows that belong to the specified Room by the user.
• Calculates the combined illumination area (as specified in OIB-330.3-007/19) of all windows in the room. Helios is compatible with any Revit Family that belongs to the Window category, including custom ones.
• Computes the minimum illumination area required for the specified room to be acceptable as a living or reception room, given the room’s depth and whether there is a balcony above the room.
• Compares the minimum required illumination area to the actual combined illumination area and concludes whether the room can be used as a living or reception room.
